How the money works
What you pay me
Preparing the application and technical sections, assembling the packet, submitting it the way that town wants it, and following it until it's issued. One flat number, paid when the packet is filed.
What you pay the town
Municipal permit fees are set by each municipality and paid directly to them. I never mark these up and never take a cut. You get the receipt with your issued permit.
Cards and invoices
Handled by Stripe, so your card details go straight to them and never touch this site. Every payment generates an invoice for your books. Prefer to be invoiced at month end? Just ask.
No surprises
If a job I quoted at $225 turns out to need plan review, I tell you before I file, not after. The price you're quoted is the price you pay.
Filing every week?
Once you're sending me five or more a month, per-permit stops making sense for both of us. Call us and we'll set a flat monthly rate that works out well below $225 a filing. We'd rather build that around your actual volume than sell you a package off a website.
Questions about pricing
Is the municipal permit fee included?
No. Every municipality sets its own fees based on project type and value, and those are paid to the town. My fee is separate and covers the filing work. I'll tell you the town's fee before you commit so there are no surprises.
How do I know which price my job is?
Ask me, or run it through the free permit checker. If there's any doubt I'll tell you before I start. Single-trade replacement work is almost always $225.
Do you charge again if the town rejects it?
No. I fix it and refile at no additional cost. If the town needs something only you, the homeowner, or a design professional can produce, I'll tell you exactly what it is and who has to produce it — and refiling is still free.
Do I have to sign anything or commit to volume?
No contract, no minimum, no subscription. Send me one permit a year or one a week. If your volume gets high enough that a monthly rate saves you money, I'll be the one to bring it up.
When do I pay?
When the packet is filed, not when the permit is issued — the town's timeline isn't mine to control. If you'd rather be invoiced monthly across several jobs, that's fine, just tell me.
